Maryville Drone Pilot | FAA Part 107 & DronePro
If you need a drone pilot in Maryville, Tennessee, I’m already here.
I live and work in Maryville and provide commercial drone work throughout Maryville, Alcoa & Blount County.
That can be aerial footage for a local business, construction or development, tourism, property, an event, or aerial support for a larger production coming into the area.
I’m an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot and FAA Safety Team DronePro.
More importantly, I’m local enough to look at the location, figure out what we’re dealing with and start solving problems before shoot day.
Drone Services in Maryville & Blount County
Not every drone job needs to turn into a full production.
Sometimes you need a handful of strong aerial shots of a business or property.
Sometimes you’re documenting construction progress.
Sometimes a production company is coming into Blount County and needs somebody local to handle the aerial side of the shoot.
I work on projects including:
- Commercial & branded content
- Construction & development
- Business locations & facilities
- Tourism & hospitality
- Property & land
- Events
- Documentary & production B-roll
- FPV
- Aerial support for visiting production crews
The first question is usually pretty simple: what are you trying to show?
From there, I can figure out what makes sense.
Local Flight Planning Matters
Maryville is home, but that doesn’t mean every location here is automatically an easy flight.
McGhee Tyson Airport is right next door in Alcoa, so the exact location of a project can matter when it comes to airspace and flight planning.
Before a commercial flight, I look at the location, airspace, people, vehicles, weather, launch and recovery areas & what is happening around the site.
If something needs to be worked out before shoot day, I’d rather know that early.
Being local also makes it easier for me to look at a location ahead of time when a project calls for it.
Commercial Aerial, FPV & Specialized Operations
I carry three drones, but I don’t need to give you an equipment catalog to explain why.
My DJI Mavic 3 Cine is my primary aircraft for traditional commercial aerial work and records Apple ProRes.
My DJI Avata 2 gives me FPV capability with D-Log M when the shot needs more movement or needs to work through a tighter environment.
My DJI Mini 3 is tied to my FAA waivers for qualifying Operations Over People & Operations Over Moving Vehicles.
Which one comes out of the case depends on the location and what we’re actually trying to capture.
FAA Part 107 & FAA Safety Team DronePro
I’m an FAA Part 107 certified Remote Pilot and an FAA Safety Team DronePro.
DronePro is a volunteer role with the FAA Safety Team focused on drone safety, education & responsible integration into the National Airspace System.
For somebody hiring me, the important part isn’t the title.
It’s knowing that I take the aviation side of drone work seriously and I’m going to look at whether the shot can be done safely & legally before promising it.
Based in Maryville
This is the part that makes this page different from my Knoxville drone work.
Maryville is home.
I’m not creating a Maryville page because it’s another city I can put into a search result. I’m based here.
I regularly work throughout Maryville, Alcoa & Blount County, and I also work throughout Knoxville and East Tennessee.
If you’re a local business, builder, agency or production company that needs aerial work here, you’re not bringing somebody in from another market just to put a drone in the air.
Need a Drone Pilot in Maryville?
Send me the location, the date & what you’re trying to capture.
If you already have a shot list, great.
If you just know you need aerials and aren’t sure what those should look like yet, that’s fine too.
I’ll take a look at the location and let you know what makes sense.
